Sense, the cost consultancy arm of the Mace Group, has published its third construction industry inflation report. This quarterly report is a download from the Sense website and provides an overview on the current state of pricing within the construction sector and of the market itself.
"With our industry now officially in recession and with the opportunities to bid for work declining rapidly, competition to secure work is fierce. Contractors are being tempted to offer lower tender sums in order to maintain cash flow and retain staff, but for clients there is a danger that they may then strive to recoup additional costs and improve their margins during the build programme."
