Information

MLogic was commissioned by BAA for the provision of labour and plant for waste removal and overall control of the vertical and horizontal distribution of materials and operatives, as well as the design, installation and removal of temporary services for the logistics package at Terminal 3.

Sixty thousand members of the public pass through Terminal 3 every day. As its open twenty-four hours everyday there was always the focus on ensuring that BAA's customers were both safe and unhindered whilst building these four projects around them.

MLogic has been able to challenge the norm and bring best value options and solutions to this critical element.

With four separate sites, which each involved very different types of build, the focus had to be getting commonality of service that would facilitate the project, whilst ensuring that an economic focus remained a key driver.

Key project features:

  • Two stage competitive tender based on Target Cost option of NEC.
  • Traffic and airline customer management of the front forecourt passenger embarkation point.
  • Provision of temporary services.
  • Provision of hoardings including innovative pre cast concrete block system.
  • Provision of on site security and fire precautions.
  • Support the Principal Contractor in discharging his duties under CDM regulations.
