Garth Hill College

Working through the IESE Framework, Mace Plus has been appointed as main contractor for Garth Hill College, a new 13,000 square meter rectangular three story educational building. There are four education blocks, an administration block, sports hall, gymnasium and dance studio that also houses mechanical and electrical plants as well as a main hall. The main halls' sports complex and gymnasium are a steel frame structure; the rest of the buildings will be of a reinforced structure. The covered link joining the four educational blocks and main hall will have a steel roof support structure and a mix of glazed and solid roofing.

Internally the wall divisions will be fair faced block work decorated with internal glazing in all classrooms. All M&E services will circulate within the corridors and will be suspended to the sofit of the walkway and enclosed in an FM ceiling.

Floor finishes will be to suit the operation of each room, general areas will be carpet, sports and gymnasium. Dance studios will be percussion absorbent flooring, and workshops will have an impervious finish. Internal decoration will generally be paint to walls, sofits, and ceilings.

There are four toilet cores on all three floors at the head of each curriculum block, there are changing rooms and toilet facilities in the sports building, with staff toilets in the administration block.

The external area is 88,000 square meters of soft and hard landscaping including a multi use games area and a synthetic pitch which will be floodlit for evening use. Soft landscaping will promote the ecology and will in part serve the schools extra curricular activities also including semi wet areas that act as water discharge balancing.

There will be car parking and bicycle parking north and south of the school complex with easy access to all necessary external areas.
