Mace was appointed to develop the Barclays Premier branch in Madrid, one of a number of Barclays branches dedicated to serving the banks premier clients.

The client needed to create a sophisticated and modern banking experience, with a branch designed to incorporate the latest trends in both design and technology. Features included private meeting rooms, video conference facilities, wi-fi internet access, cafeteria, reading areas and a family zone. Barclays aim to open more ‘Premier' branches worldwide and we look forward to future international partnerships with Barclays.

Mace has helped client Barclays Bank to achieve its ambitious plan of opening 95 new branches in Spain in just six months, thus increasing branch numbers by 20% from 493 to 588. To carry out the expansion plan, Mace led the complex coordination of 16 construction companies, 11 architects, seven sign posting companies in addition to the various installation, furniture and decorating contractors. The majority of new branches were opened in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, and in the coastal regions of Baleares, Tenerife and Costa del Sol where there is a large UK presence and high levels of brand recognition for the bank.
