Mace director talks to Birmingham Best Practice Club

18/08/2009
Mace associate director Tim Court was invited to speak to the Birmingham Best Practice Club last month at the Hotel du Vin in Birmingham. Tim is currently working on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre transformation project in Stratford upon Avon and enlightened members on the challenges of delivering the modern refurbishment of a Grade II listed 1930s theatre.
Tim spoke of the innovative construction methods used on the project and as part of the Constructing Excellence focussed on the importance of engaging the workforce and surrounding community on such a highly publicised and important project. Tim's topic of respect in construction drew on the Egan “Rethinking Construction” agenda of 1998 and the principles of ‘involve, engage, empower” for all members of the construction industry.
Colleague and Mace associate director Donna Heath, currently Club Secretary and Deputy Chair of Birmingham Best Practice Club said: “Tim gave an engaging and enlightening presentation on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Transformation project, it was clear that many of our members agreed with and were impressed by the approaches to constructing excellence demonstrated by the project”
