04/09/2009
Mace is celebrating ten years in Spain with a team numbering approximately 80 people who have delivered more than 100 projects with a combined construction value of circa €2,000m. Projects include landmark schemes such as Madrid Xanadu, Plaza Mayor and most recently, a new British embassy in Madrid for client the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. This year the team is working on 25 projects in 15 cities. Mace in Spain is most frequently appointed for its project management expertise for which it has won several awards.
Director of finance and HR for the group's Spanish business, Jesús Pariente Bacigalupe, shares his thoughts on this major milestone for the company and especially the local team.
"In 2009 Mace celebrates its 10th anniversary in Spain, and this is a moment that fills all of us with happiness, positivity and invites reflection and analysis. There have been many projects, professionals, clients, changes and paths covered throughout these ten years that have enabled Mace to be a point of reference and acknowledged within the project management sector nationwide.
Throughout the years we have changed the corporate identity, faces have varied, sectors have evolved, the environment has changed, we have found obstacles and opportunities, won awards and been ISO-certified. We have celebrated the opening of new projects, we have satisfied clients, acknowledged and congratulated teams, and we have lots of reasons to continue."
Carlos Armero is country manager for Spain, reporting to Jose Carlos Saz who was appointed regional director for the European Union earlier this year.
