Ian EggersIan is a Mace director responsible for delivery of Mace's biggest single project, The London Bridge Quarter, which incorporates The London Bridge Tower, western Europe's tallest building.

Ian joined Mace soon after its inception in 1993 and has been at the core of many of the developments and successes over the past 15 years.

Ian's formative years were spent as an engineer at Tarmac Construction. He moved to Bovis in 1988 and worked on the phase II Exchange House project at Broadgate, and this was followed by complex projects at Ludgate and Heathrow Airport.

Ian has managed some major accounts including The Royal Bank of Scotland, More London and Land Securities, covering major shell and core commercial buildings, residential towers and complex fit outs from Edinburgh to London.

He set up and commenced the company's first major construction management project in Macau, China, creating the joint venture partnership with Hsin Chong to deliver one of the world's largest casino complexes for The Las Vegas Venetian company.

At 36 years old, Ian was the youngest winner of the prestigious Construction Manager of the Year award for his work on Carlton Gardens. With the higher profile this afforded him, he attracted the attention of various television companies and has since hosted Streets Ahead with Sarah Beeny.

Ian is a keen West Ham supporter which he believes is "good training for life's disappointments". His passion for gardening is expressed at his allotments while his sporting endeavours including golf, skiing and football.

Born into a Royal Navy family, Ian was born in Singapore and lived in Malta. He now lives in Winchester with his wife Hilary and two sons, Eddie and George.
